THREE Bolton men have been charged in connection with a crime gang's plot to break-in and steal from 30 schools across the North West.

The charges come as a result of an investigation, codenamed Operation Anglesey, that was led by Bolton officers and involving colleagues from other GMP divisions and neighbouring forces.

Samuel Grimes, aged 24, of Georgina Court, Daubhill, and Benjamin Grimes, 25, of Tintern Avenue, Tonge Moor, have been charged with conspiracy to commit a burglary other than a dwelling with intent to steal.

Yacoob Ahmed, 25, of Rishton Lane, Great Lever, has been charged with handling stolen goods.

Benjamin Grimes appeared at Bolton Magistrates' Court this morning, November 26.

Samuel Grimes and Yacoob Ahmed are due to appear at the same court on January 5 next year.

The schools allegedly targeted include ones in Bolton, other areas of Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and West Yorkshire.
