TOP TV chefs have unveiled the mouth-watering menus they will be offering up as part of Bolton’s Winter Festival.

From traditional festive bakes to exotic offerings, there will be something for every palate inside the giant tipis which are set to dominate the town centre from today (Sat).

Demos will be performed throughout December by Bake Off star Luis Troyano, well-known local chef Robert Owen Brown and Masterchef pair Simon Wood and Jackey Kearney.

Cake-fans will enjoy Luis Troyano, Christmas Demos, taking place on December 3 and 10 from noon until 2pm (£5 with a hot drink) and again on December 17 from 6pm until 8pm (£7.50 with a glass of fizz.)

The Bake Off finalist will create a menu including Christmas star bread, Christmas frangipane tart and a gingerbread Christmas cake that guest will be able to sample.

On December 4 and 5, Masterchef finalist Jackie Kearney will bring her Hungry Gecko Supper Club to the town centre from 7pm.

For £30 per head, diners will be treated to an exotic and extensive eastern menu including starters of Thai BBQ skewers and Laos-style Laab, sharing plates of Malaysian Rendang and Dal Masala and a Spiced Baked Alaska desert.

Radcliffe-raised chef Robert Owen Brown, renowned for his time at Manchester’s iconic Mark Addy will present his 12 Days of Christmas menu on December 11 and 12 from 6.30pm.

Also pitched at £30 per head, guests will be offered a poultry-themed menu including the Four Calling Birds featuring a bird in a bird in a bird, sat in a plum tree, with drumsticks and drums.

His starter of a golden goose egg, with Morecambe Bay shrimps, crispy bacon and brioche is also set to tantalise the taste-buds.

Finally, Masterchef champion Simon Wood will bring his Nordic Supper Nights to the giant tipis on December 18 and 19 from 6.30pm both nights.

Starting with roasted cod, the £30 menu will move on to a main course of sweet buttered leeks, burnt leeks, pickled fennel, crispy chicken skin and fried goose breast before a desert of apple cake with porter fudge caramel and hazelnut granola.

Council leader Cliff Morris said: “People have a passion for good food and they love seeing celebrity chefs, which was no more evident than at this year’s successful Food and Drink Festival, and we believe these pop-restaurants and cookery demonstrations will be incredibly popular.

“It would be a good idea to book as soon as possible as tickets are bound to sell out quickly.”
