Thief fined for stealing guitar

A BOLTON man who stole a guitar worth £120 from Cash Converters has been fined.

Kevin Sutherland, aged 35, of Manchester Road, was fined £80 and ordered to pay compensation of £120, a victim surcharge of £20, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150 by Bolton magistrates.

Driver banned for 23 months

A BLACKROD man was banned from driving for 23 months after being caught drink driving and driving without insurance.

Peter Rae, aged 45, of Scot Lane, pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150 by Bolton magistrates.

Tobacco duty not paid

A BOLTON man has been given a suspended prison sentence after admitting failing to pay the proper duty for hand rolled tobacco.

Ribwar Ahmadian, aged 26, of Charles Holden Street, admitted knowingly being concerned in a fraudulent evasion of any provision of the Customs and Excise Acts 1979 applicable to the goods.

He was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison suspended for a year and must carry out 200 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.

Bolton magistrates also ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £80 and costs of £85. The tobacco has since been destroyed.

Drink driving man fined 

A HEATON man was fined after being caught drink driving in Chorley New Road.

Bright Ekeleme, aged 41, of Thomasson Court, admitted the offence and was fined £430 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £43, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150 by Bolton magistrates.

Woman assaulted man

A HORWICH woman was given a community order after admitting assaulting a man and causing £300 worth of damage to windows.

Tasha Gallagher, aged 18, of Greasley Avenue, was ordered to observe a curfew from 7pm to 7am for 16 weeks and must pay compensation of £300, a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £100 and a criminal courts charge of £180 by Bolton magistrates.

Drink driver hit with ban

A MOTORIST was banned from driving for 14 months after being caught drink driving and for being on the road without a licence or insurance.

Zachary Hart, aged 21, of Smethurst Lane, Farnworth, pleaded guilty and was fined £450 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150 by Bolton magistrates.
