TWIN brothers have been spared jail after kicking and punching a man in a bar attack.

Bolton Crown Court heard how Daniel and Florin Enache were about to order drinks in the Karaoke Bar in Bradshawgate, Bolton, on October 4 but Steven Payne got served before them.

Steven Wild, prosecuting, said Mr Payne went to sit by himself with his drink and a short time later, after Florin Enache had gone to the toilet, Mr Payne followed him.

As they both came out of the toilets, angry words were exchanged and a fight broke out between the two.

Daniel Enache ran over to support his brother and both men were seen on CCTV kicking and punching their victim to the ground.

A female security officer broke up the brawl and the Enache brothers were detained until police arrived to arrest them.

Mr Payne suffered bruising and had a cut to the top of his head.

The brothers, both aged 26, of Bradford Street, The Haulgh, pleaded guilty to causing actual bodily harm.

Andrew Costello, defending both Romanian-born men, said they had arrived in Bolton less than a year ago and were working hard to make a living at a car wash.

"They are both of previous good character and are thoroughly ashamed of their behaviour," he said, adding that the attack was not pre-planned but had escalated in a moment.

Judge Timothy Stead sentenced each brother to four months in prison, suspended for two years, and each must do 100 hours unpaid work.

The two men must also each pay a £180 criminal courts charge and £80 victim surcharge.
