A PROJECT that supports fathers and their children has scooped a local award.
Salford Dadz - Little Hulton, which helps strengthen parent-child bonds and boost their confidence, celebrated after it won Small Community Group of the Year 2015 at the annual Heart of Salford Awards.
Run by Salford Community and Voluntary Services and Volunteer Centre Salford, the honours - handed out at a prize-giving ceremony held on Monday (Dec 7) evening - celebrate and showcase volunteering in the city.
Steve Mortlock, chairman, said: "Getting this award is amazing.
"We felt that all of the groups nominated in the category do fantastic work.
"It also makes all the hard work worth it and we look forward to continuing long into the future."
Salford Dadz - Little Hulton is led by a nine-strong 'council of dads' and organises activities entirely voluntarily throughout the year including the well-established Dadz and Kidz club every Saturday.
The activities largely take place at Little Hulton Sure Start Centre in Longshaw Drive, Little Hulton, and Peel Park Pavilion in Peel Park in Manchester Road West, Little Hulton.
