A MOTORIST has been fined and given seven points for driving without insurance.

Simon Brady, aged 24, from Oldham, was driving without insurance and without a full driving licence on Burnden Way in Horwich on December 6 last year.

He was convicted in his absence on May 3 at Bolton Magistrates Court and appeared for sentencing yesterday. The court heard he had previously passed his driving test, but failed to send off the form in the two year period so has a provisional licence.

He said: "I am sorry for the offence and it will not happen again. I should have realised and I accept I was responsible."

He was fined £250 and ordered to pay £60 costs.
