A BOLTON businessman gave boxer Amir Khan's bedroom a bling-tastic makeover.

The 29-year-old boxing champ and his glamorous wife Faryal employed the services of Ashley Yih's 3D Custom Coverings to carry out the work at their Lostock home.

They had their bedroom ceiling covered in silver 3D tiles, which Mr Yih said completely changed the feel of the room and complemented the rest of the furniture perfectly.

Mr Yih, aged 27, was working as a barber when he stumbled across the idea for the business.

He said: "I wanted to do a barber's shop up and I wanted a nice ceiling. I scoured the internet and couldn't find anything.

"For the style that we do, there was none. That's why I started doing it."

He set the business up in May and recently moved into premises in Chorley New Road.

Properties they have created striking new looks for include the house of a Nigerian woman in Tonge Moor, a family in Whitefield and a salon in Leamington Spa.

Mr Yih said they are due to start work at the salon of The Only Way is Essex star Amy Childs, in Brentwood.

Amir was so pleased with his bedroom's new look, he shared the photograph among his fans on social media.

He said: "Just want to take the time out to thank the team at 3D Custom Coverings for doing the last finishing touch in my bedroom. Couldn't be happier with the end result."

Mr Yih said: "It's unbelievable, his wife Faryal was really happy with it too. She's really into fashion."

The cost of the work depends on the tile chosen and size of the room, with designs starting at £7 each.

Mr Yih added: "It's not everyone's cup of tea but we are trying to extend the range."

As well as dazzling ceiling designs, the company also creates feature walls — where one wall of the room is a vibrant, striking or patterned design — which are popular in modern homes.

His own apartment, in Bolton town centre, boasts a feature wall decorated with a gold 3D look.
