Man jailed for headbutting 50-year-old

A FARNWORTH man has been jailed for headbutting another man in his own home.

Damian Wynne, aged 29, of Greenfold Avenue, was sentenced to eight weeks behind bars after assaulting the 50-year-old man on January 12 while on licence.

He pleaded guilty before Bolton magistrates, and and must also pay an £80 victim surcharge.

Man fined for assaulting woman

MAGISTRATES have fined a man who admitted assaulting a woman.

Robert Birtles, aged 28, of Deal Street, Great Lever, changed his plea to guilty after previously pleading not guilty before Bolton magistrates.

He was fined £120 and ordered to pay costs of £150 and a victim surcharge of £20.

Man admits assault charge

MAGISTRATES conditionally discharged a man who admitted assaulting a woman.

Jonny Nelson, aged 42, of Deane Church Lane, pleaded guilty to assaulting the woman on June 28, but was found not guilty of assaulting her on September 9.

He was conditionally discharged for 18 months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £85.

Unpaid work order for man who breached restraining order

MAGISTRATES ordered a Bolton man to carry out unpaid work after admitting breaching a restraining order.

Lee Chadwick, aged 25, of McKean Street, was sentenced to a community order and must complete 150 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months, and pay a victim surcharge of £60.

Curfew and ban for driver

A MOTORIST who refused to provide a sample of breath after being pulled over by police officers must observe a curfew.

Sarfraz Alam, aged 30, of Duke Street, Bolton, must adhere to a curfew for 10 weeks from 7pm to 7am and was banned form driving for 18 months.

He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and costs of £600 after changing his plea to guilty before Bolton magistrates.

Woman jailed after assault

A WOMAN who launched a "sustained" assault on another woman has been jailed for six months.

Magistrates said a prison sentence the only punishment appropriate for Mary Ellen Stokes, aged 27, of Pleasant Gardens, Halliwell, because of the "violent sustained nature" of the incident on July 11 last year.

She pleaded guilty and must also pay a victim surcharge of £80.

Assault man told he must pay victim £100

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to pay £100 compensation to a woman after he admitted assaulting her.

Neil Winston, aged 35, of Newbridge Gardens, Harwood, committed the offence on April 5 and initially denied the offence before changing his plea to guilty.

He was sentenced to an 18 months conditional discharge and must pay £500 prosecution costs.

A restraining order was also made banning him from contacting his victim or going to Musgrave Road, Bolton.

Woman sentenced over assault on man

A WOMAN has been sentenced to a conditional discharge for three months after she admitted assaulting a man.

At Bolton Magistrates Court Rebecca Maunder, aged 44, of Romney Chase, Bolton, was also ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs plus a £15 victim surcharge.

Man fined £120 after breaching restraining order

MAGISTRATES have fined a man after he admitted going to an address in Stoneclough in breach of a non-molestation order.

Kyle Fish, aged 19, of Hillside Close, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on December 30.

He was fined £120 and was ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs plus a £20 victim surcharge.

Jacket thief electronically tagged

A THIEF who stole a man's designer jacket containing his keys and wallet has been sentenced to an eight week curfew.

Bolton Magistrates heard how Jason Clarkson, aged 26, of Boston Street, Halliwell, took the French Connection jacket on April 9.

He pleaded guilty to the offence and the court ordered that he be electronically tagged with the curfew lasting from 8pm to 7am.

The court also ordered that he pay £200 compensation plus £145 in costs and charges.

Vandal given community sentence after car damage

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a vandal to spend 18 hours at an attendance centre after he admitted causing damage, estimated at £300, to a vehicle.

Dawood Sidik, aged 21, of Willows Lane, Bolton, was also ordered to take part in a behaviour programme, pay his victim £300 compensation plus £85 costs.

Driver had no insurance

A MOTORIST has been fined after being found guilty of driving without due care and attention and admitting being on the roads without insurance.

Hussain Patel, aged 29, of Primula Street, Astley Bridge, was fined a total of £525 and ordered to pay costs of £600 and a victim surcharge of £35 after appearing before Bolton Magistrates Court.
