A DRIVING instructor from Heaton is urging the motorist who failed to stop after crashing into his car to hand himself into the police.

Adnan Munir Dar, owner of Darz driving school, captured the moment a BMW 5-series sport crashed into his white Audi while he was conducting a driving lesson at 9.05am on Sunday morning, January 24.

Adnan was in the car with a learner driver heading west along the A6053 Church Street in Little Lever when they indicated to make a right turn into Dearden Street.

The Bolton News:

But as their car started to move out, a BMW attempted to overtake them on their right side, clipping the wing of Adnan’s car and causing up to £3,500 damage.

“My learner driver indicated on time and reduced speed to turn, however the BMW driver decided to overtake us at high speed,” said the 35-year-old.

“The BMW paused for second and then flew off from the scene. We followed him but the next traffic light was red and we lost him. He turned in to Manchester Road in Bolton.

“We instructors and learners have to go through this all the time and these dangerous drivers have no respect us. They all need to remember they were learners at one stage.

“The damages to my car will cost something between £1,500-3,500 to repair.”

The Bolton News:

Adnan uses a dashboard camera to help learners make progress by reviewing their lessons, and decided to release a video of the incident to raise awareness of fail to stop offences.

“It is great teaching tool to record lesson and playback to help my learners. In this case we didn't have chance to write his number plate and camera system helped us to track him,” he added.
