A MAN who was arrested after a father was stabbed to death in a Bolton street has been bailed.

Sebastian Zuchlinski was set on by thugs in Davenport Street, just outside Bolton town centre, on Saturday at 10pm.

Witnesses saw the attackers slashing at his limbs and one of the victim's fingers was chopped off in the attack.

Paramedics were unable to save the 39-year-old.

Mr Zuchlinski had been at his partner Eva's house round the corner in Vernon Street before the attack. The couple are believed to have a five-year-old daughter.

Flowers, candles and a photograph of him in a frame have been left at the side of Davenport Street, where all traces of the police forensics investigation have disappeared.

A post mortem examination has confirmed the man died from multiple stab wounds.
