FOOD fans in Bolton will be pleased to see the launch of two new town centre restaurants.

Popular chicken chain Nando’s has opened its new premises in the refurbished Victoria vaults in the Market Place shopping centre.

And tomorrow, local favourite Spice Valley — an Indian restaurant run by Subhash and Geeta Kotecha — will relaunch one of its outlets at Noble House in St George's Rd.

South African firm Nando’s is the latest to set up shop in the vaults and joins Italian restaurant Prezzo and local bar Great Ale in the new complex.

The restaurant is already proving to be a huge hit with local residents of all ages.

Nick Robinson, regional managing director for Nando’s, said: “We’re really excited to be part of Bolton’s beautiful Market Place development.

"We’ve built a stunning restaurant to complement the unique, historic location and can’t wait to welcome the public inside."

The new Spice Valley restaurant replaces the Kotecha’s unit of the same name at the Valley Retail Park.

The ambitious couple — who also run the Spice Valley restaurant in Horwich — wanted to move to a larger premises at Noble House as there was no room to expand at the Valley site.

Mr Kotecha, launched a Chinese restaurant at Noble House with his brothers back in 1989 and has dedicated the opening to his older brother.

He said: “My brother Lalita died a few years ago and April 24 was his birthday — so now we are back at Noble House we thought it would be an appropriate date to open because we were very close.

“We are very pleased to be welcoming back our customers to our new restaurants and hopefully people who have not eaten with us before.”

As well as the usual range of authentic Indian cuisine, Spice Valley at Noble House will have a special Indo-chinese menu, as a nod to the building’s former use.

There will also be a special lunchtime menu for workers who need to eat quickly.
