MEDICS at the Royal Bolton Hospital showcased the NHS – to a special delegation from India.

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust welcomed visitors from the Confederation of Indian Industry who travelled to England on a five-day visit.

The Royal Bolton Hospital was chosen as a site for the group to visit as it is a similar size to many in India.

Dr Murali, a neurologist at Manipal Hospital, in Bengaluru, said that the group came to the UK to learn about good practice in healthcare. The doctor said the group wanted to identify possible areas for collaboration between India and England.

Dr Murali said: “We have found the people here at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust to be open, and extremely transparent.

"Not only did they want to share with us what they had successfully done, they also discussed what the challenges had been.

"They showed us that when everyone works together, you can make lasting change.”

They were welcomed to Bolton by Programme Manager Jo Bolger, who gave a presentation on the hospital's programme management framework.

They were also given a tour of the laboratory of medicine.

The visitors also met members of the executive team before flying off.
