POLICE are appealing for information after a spate of burglaries in the Egerton area.

The Bolton News reported earlier this week that the nine burglaries were committed in the area between April 24 and April 27.

Officers have now revealed that the break-ins occurred on Druids Close, Cox Green Close, Delph Avenue, Blackburn Road and Albert Street.

Locks on garages and sheds have been forced open and police say the offender has tried the handles on the doors of properties.

They have entered homes and stolen property including a vehicle from the driveway of one of the victims.

Now the Astley Bridge Neighbourhood Team are asking residents to be vigilant and make sure their properties are secure.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester said: “Police are also appealing for anyone who may have CCTV to check it and see if they have caught any footage that could help police with their investigation.

“If there are any sightings of vehicles or persons you think are suspicious then we ask that you call either 999 if they are in the act of committing a crime, about to commit a crime or have done so, or alternatively ring 101.”

Anyone with information should the Neighbourhood Police Team on 0161 856 5761 or the independent charity Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
