THE 10,000 tickets available for popular music event Boltfest are almost gone.

The festival will take place on the May Bank Holiday weekend and a host of tribute bands have been singed up to perform over the two-day occasion.

Tribute acts to the late music legend David Bowie and performances imitating Status Quo, Black Sabbath, AC/DC and Blink 182 will head up Saturday followed by tributes to rock band Queen, Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon and Led Zeppelin on Sunday.

However a line-up of local and up and coming bands have now been added to the mix including; Attic Doctors, The Jade Assembly, The Boston shakers, Bolton Ukuele Group and Twisted Illusion.

Event organiser Jools Taylor said: “There are only a small number of tickets remaining and we will definitely be sold out before the date arrives.”

This year Boltfest is rocking out to fight cancer and will be supporting charity The Christie.

The Christie Hospital is currently at the forefront of bringing a revolutionary new type of cancer treatment to the UK called Proton Beam Therapy.

The treatment is a specialist form of radiotherapy which can precisely target certain cancers, increasing success rates and reducing side-effects. It is currently only available abroad.

To support the charities mission Boltfest is asking for its audience members to donate to the cause.

Mr Taylor added: “I am asking if everybody attending can give just £1 to the volunteers from the charity on hand.

“It will be greatly appreciated and make a big difference to people in need.

“We give tickets away free for Boltfest to make for a great community spirit.

“So if people can give back just that tiny bit it will be huge and amazing to see what we can all achieve together.”

Tickets are still available and can be picked up from X Records in Bridge Street in Bolton and online at: www.boltfest.com

The local line-up of bands performing on Saturday are: Fear the Fallen, Zombie Woof, Big Foot, Good Foxy, TVOD, Attic Doctors, The Jade Assembly and The Boston shakers.

On Sunday; Bolton Ukuele Group, The Bourbon Hounds, Twisted Illusion, Clear green andTommy Holland as Elvis will perform.
