A BOLTON marketing company is designing its own successful future by moving to more central premises to deal with its expansion.

Silk Group was based in Chorley New Road but now has a new home in modern offices in Atlas House in St Georges Square, on the fringe of Bolton town centre.

The company was established in 1988 and has more than 25 years’ experience in helping a large variety of companies to brand and promote themselves.

“We’ve evolved over the years as technology has evolved,” explained Sales’ and Marketing Director Peter Slater. “Today, we are going into several different fields and specialise in creative, promotional merchandise and branding.”

There have also been major changes in the business more recently and last year, the management and ownership of the company altered. Silk Group has also joined forces with Purple Promotions, based in Exeter, and Hatton Textiles.

Purple Promotions create corporate branded clothing with embroidery machinery in-house, so offer UK clients competitive prices.

International company Hatton Textiles are specialists in branded towels and textiles. This particular link up has not only created a textiles’ division for Silk Group but brought clients including St Andrew’s Golf Club.

It has also enlarged the business group’s total workforce to 25, and provided a natural outlet for the Bolton company’s creative and design strengths.

The moves have gained new clients for the group in the automotive industry and meant the setting up of a new business “arm” - Automotive Brand Solutions (ABS). This is already proving successful and works with dealerships and manufacturers around the country.

One of ABS’s major clients is Bosch Car Service which has 500 garages across the UK. “We now do all their marketing and products for them and are setting up a brand new website so garages can order online,” stated Mr Slater.

“In the last 10 years, there have been changes in our industry with a big increase in demand for merchandising, digital media and corporate workwear,” added Mr Slater.

“We’re very happy to be in our new premises which reflect the way the company has grown and altered.”
