TWO Post Offices in Bolton will be increasing opening times with a Sunday service.

Branches in Top o'th' Brow and Crescent Road will be given a modern makeover and seven days a week opening times.

The Top o'th' Brow service is being moved to the AS Store in New Lane, next door to its current home.

The new branch will include three serving positions, two modern screened positions and a combi-counter, as well as easy access with level access and a wide door at the entrance.

Opening hours will be increased by an extra 40 hours and 30 minutes a week, opening 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and from 8.30am to 8pm on Sunday.

The date for the relocation has yet to be confirmed, but information will be displayed inside the present post office to inform customers of the move dates.

Meanwhile, Crescent Road Post Office will be closed from 5.30pm next Wednesday for refurbishment.

The modernisation will include a modern open-plan local-style branch with opening times increasing by an extra 29 hours a week.

The service, which will launch at 1pm on Friday, June 24, will be provided two open-plan counters in the store and opening hours of 8.30am to 8pm Monday to Saturday, and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

Residents and small business customers to both branches will be able to access a number of services, including Special Delivery, Local Collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.

Suzanne Richardson, regional manager said: "We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

"We are confident that this vibrant new-style post office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office."
