MORRISONS staff have been praised after their quick-thinking following a fire in the store this morning.
Firefighters were called to the Harwood branch of the supermarket at 6am after reports of a fire in a deep fat fryer.
When the crews arrived the staff had managed to put the fire out and leave the premises.
A spokesman for the fire service said: "The staff did a great job and managed to put the fire out by the time we arrived.
"The team leader did a fantastic job of pulling the emergency cord which triggered a sprinkler system above the fryer and they calmly evacuated the store."
The store wasn't open to customers at the time of the incident.
It is believed that the fire was caused by an electrical fault and there was a small amount of damage to the fryer.
