A BOLTON union boss says she is "frustrated" and disappointed" with her own organisation for agreeing to a council pay deal.
Bolton Unison's assistant branch secretary Andrea Egan spoke of her disappointment out over a council pay deal at its local government conference held in Brighton.
She said she was frustrated that the union nationally had accepted a two year pay deal despite opposition from union branches across the country.
She said: "I am really pleased that I was able to speak on behalf of members at Unison's local government conference.
"We need to defend national pay bargaining and campaign to tackle years of pay freezes.
"We have had some success in raising the pay of the lowest paid paid but last year pay settlement led to bitter disappointment from branches who wanted to stick out and fight for a better deal."
