Shoplifter stole hair dye and aftershave

A SHOPLIFTER who stole hair dye and cologne has been sentenced.
Michael Owens took four bottles of aftershave and two boxes of hair dye from Boots in Bolton on June 2.
He admitted a single count of theft at Bolton Magistrates' Court on Friday (June 17) and one of failing to surrender. 
The 36-year-old, of Devonshire Road, Atherton, received a three-month community order with a 7pm-to-7am curfew.
Owens has to pay a victim surcharge of £85 and court costs of £45.

Attacker of woman jailed

A MAN who attacked a women has been jailed for 14 weeks.
Adam Waring, aged 26, of Frances Street, Brownlow Fold, assaulted the woman in Bolton last Wednesday and damaged her property to the value of £100.
In assaulting the woman, Waring also breached a restraining order.
Waring admitted assault, criminal damage and breaching the order to Salford and Manchester magistrates on Saturday.
He was jailed and ordered to pay his victim £200 compensation and £85 court costs.
Magistrates said the offence was serious because it was a sustained attack which resulted in the need for hospital treatment.
Waring has agreed to pay the £285 bill at £20 a month beginning on September 9 after his prison sentence ends.

Man sentenced for damaging sign

A VANDAL who damaged a business sign worth £60 has been sentenced to a conditional discharge for six months by Bolton magistrates.
Peter Charnock, aged 42, of Woodvale Grove, Great Lever, admitted damaging the sign, belonging to computer shop CFU Ltd, on May 4.
In addition to the sentence he was ordered to pay £60 compensation plus a £20 victim surcharge.

Man admits to drink charge

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to a conditional discharge for six months after he admitted being drunk and disorderly in Victoria Square, Bolton, on May 24.
Abdul Saed, aged 41, of Bromwich Street, Bolton, was also ordered to pay £105 in costs and charges.

Man in breach of court order

A KEARSLEY man has appeared in court for breaching an anti-social behaviour order.
Warren Mason, aged 33, of Jackson Street, had been told by Manchester Crown Court on March 25 not to be in the company of Rumaal Ingram.
However, Mason met Mr Ingram in Salford on Saturday and admitted to Salford and Manchester magistrates on the same day that he breached the order.
Mason was fined £160 and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £42.50 court costs.

Speeding driver banned for year

A MAN who broke the speed limit ten times in 21 days has been banned from driving.
Ben Young, aged 25, of Bolton Old Road, Atherton, drove a Renault car on the M62 in Rochdale on July 9 last year at 59mph when the temporary speed limit was 50mph.
He did the same thing on the following day and on eight more occasions in the remainder of the month on the same stretch of road. The top speed he reached was 70mph.
On March 14, Young appeared before Salford and Manchester magistrates and denied ten counts of speeding.
All ten charges were proved in Young's absence on May 24.
At a further hearing at the same court on Friday, Young was banned from driving for a year and ordered to pay £1,890 in fines and court costs.

Teen driver banned for six months

A TEENAGER who drove without a licence or insurance has been banned from the road for six months.
The 16-year-old boy, of Little Hulton, cannot be named for legal reasons.
He admitted to Salford and Manchester Youth Court last Friday that he drove a Ford Focus in Madams Wood Road, Little Hulton, on May 11 without a licence or insurance and was also ordered to pay £120 in fines and court costs.

Bolton man fined for being drunk and disorderly 

A 32-YEAR-OLD man has been fined for being drunk and disorderly.
Ashley Shepherd, of Duke Street, Bolton town centre, demonstrated the objectionable behaviour in Leigh Road in Leigh on June 4.
He admitted the offence on Wednesday (June 15) at Bolton Magistrates' Court and was fined £60 and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and £85 court costs.
Shepherd committed the offence in breach of a Trafford Magistrates' Court conditional discharge imposed for an earlier offence of causing harassment, alarm or distress.
He was re-sentenced to a new 12-month conditional discharge.

Attacker fined

MAGISTRATES have fined a man £290 after he admitted assaulting a man and a woman on May 27.
Gavin Henderson, aged 33, of Lydford Gardens, Bolton, was also ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

Year’s ban for drug driver, 40

A MOTORIST has been fined and banned from holding a licence for 12 months after being caught driving under the influence of controlled drugs.
At Bolton Magistrates' Court Saed Delshad, aged 40, of Leach Street, Bolton, admitted committing the offence on April 7 whilst driving a Fiat Punto on Plodder Lane, Farnworth.
He also pleaded guilty to driving without a licence or insurance.
Delshad was fined £150 and ordered to pay £105 in costs and charges.

Thief admits stealing vodka

A SHOPLIFTER who stole three bottles of vodka from a supermarket has been sentenced to a conditional discharge for six months by Bolton magistrates.
Barry Fletcher, aged 44, of Firwood Lane, Bolton, admitted taking the alcohol, worth £105 from Asda at Middlebrook on April 15.
He was also ordered to pay £105 compensation plus a £20 victim surcharge.
