FARNWORTH and Walkden Band performed in a band festival attended by thousands in Bury last weekend.

Crowds took to various locations across the town to enjoy the fourth Bandemonium.

Farnworth and Walkden Band kept shoppers entertained with the morning slot in St John's Square, The Rock before Tottington Public Band took to the stage in the afternoon.

Organiser Andrew Taylor said the event had been a huge hit. He said: "It was a great success with thousands of people enjoying the music of the various bands which took part.

"It gets better and better each year. And it's a great opportunity to get people in to enjoy some free entertainment on a Saturday."

Performances were in Kay Gardens, The Rock and East Lancashire Railway Station.

On the day there was also performances from Greater Manchester Police Band, Derby High School Band, Bury Catholic Preparatory Choir, Hazlehurst Primary School Band, Middleton Youth Band and Bury Music Service at Market Square, Mill Gate.

Next year's event is already planned for Saturday, June 17 and anyone wanting to take part should email jat999@tinyworld.co.uk or call 07796 376 562.
