SIMBA is no lion cub – he’s a Great Dane.
And just like Scooby Doo, he’s very partial to the odd snack or two.
“He was bought for me and my husband as a wedding present last year, as I have always wanted a Great Dane,” explains owner, Gemma Garner.
“From the moment we brought him home he has been trouble!
“He swallowed a whole corn on the cob and needed emergency surgery.
“He then broke his toe and has needed two lots of eye surgery due to hereditary conditions.”
And it’s one-year-old Simba’s appetite that also causes a few issues at home in Radcliffe - but his family love him all the same.
“He eats everything on the work tops, leaving a trail of drool behind,” added Gemma, 31.
“He takes up all of the sofa and likes to take me for a walk.
“He is, however, a fantastic pet.
“He gets on well with our other dog, Jake, and our cats and our horses.
“My daughters love him and he is a massive part of our family. We wouldn't change him for the world.”
