A FARNWORTH based company which has an indoor slide has been listed as one of the top firms to work for in Europe.

Pram manufacturers Cosatto came 24th out of 50 in a list of the Best Small and Medium Workplaces in Europe in the Great Places to Work survey.

It also came second in Great Places to Work's UK list, in the medium category for businesses employing 50 to 500 people.

The firm's futuristic base in Bentinck Mill boasts an indoor slide between floors, state of the art fittings, a gym and a ping pong table.

In addition, the company holds a quarterly 'once in a lunchtime' competition, in which members can vote for one of their colleagues to win a once in a lifetime, including climbing Everest or cycling in the Alps.

The company also has a monthly superstar award, with prizes including prosecco, chocolates and donations to the employee’s favourite charity.

It also aims to motivate its 51 employees by offering a different take on the traditional work life balance, allowing staff to work when and where they like as long as they meet their targets and bring in results.

Bosses say this decision has empowered staff, and increased their performance and passion for the company.

Andrew Kluge, owner and chief executive officer, said: "We are really chuffed to be in the European Top 25 Best Places to Work 2016. It is mind blowing to think that our small company based in an old textile mill in Farnworth has been assessed as one of the top employers across 19 European countries!”

"We are immensely proud of what we have achieved here at Cosatto but we honestly don’t do it for the awards, we do it because we firmly believe that a happy team is a productive and successful one.

"So the more we can do to ensure that Cosatto is indeed a Great Place to Work, I believe the more successful we will be; so far that seems to be the case."

Mr Kluge also won an individual award, the Best Workplaces 2016 most trusted leadership award.

Cosatto’s IT Manager Mark Pendlebury added: "I have never worked for a company that is so open to sharing, which is a credit to our CEO and his nature to inspire people through honest motivation and sharing."

The firm previously winner Business of the Year and the creative award at the Bolton and Bury Business awards in 2013.
