BOLTON'S triple Olympic cycling champion Jason Kenny has been selected as part of a 26-strong Great Britain squad for this year's games in Rio.
The 28-year-old, who won two Olympic golds in London four years ago, is part of the men's sprint team heading to Brazil in August after the squad was announced today.
Kenny will be joined by Lizzie Armitstead, Mark Cavendish, Laura Trott and Sir Bradley Wiggins in the squad, while Bury's Adam Yates joins Chris Froome in the team for the men's road race, with twin brother Simon Yates missing out.
Cavendish and Trott will ride in the multi-discipline omnium event, with double London 2012 champion Trott also appearing in the women's team pursuit.
Joining Wiggins, who is chasing an eighth Olympic medal, in the men's team pursuit quartet are Steven Burke, Ed Clancy and Owain Doull, with Cavendish providing back-up.
The team for the men's road race will be led by double Tour de France champion Froome, with Pete Kennaugh, Ian Stannard, Geraint Thomas and Yates taking the other slots.
Armitstead is GB's main hope in the women's road race, where she will be supported by Nikki Harris and Emma Pooley.
The sprinters are Kenny, Phil Hindes and Callum Skinner on the men's side, and Becky James and Katy Marchant on the women's.
