TWO thieves broke down the back door of a house and stole a £2,000 motocross bike just hours after it had been bought.

The two men, described as around 18-years-old, white and tall, were wearing black hoodies as they broke into the house on Hengist Street in Bolton.

The incident happened at around 8.40pm on Wednesday.

The occupants of the house Lyndonn Adamson, aged 18, and Ellie Halton, aged 17, were out at the time of the incident.

However Miss Halton's grandmother, aged 70, who lives opposite, was pushed to the floor by the men when she confronted them about what they were doing, after being alerted by the noise of the break in.

Mr Adamson, who owns the bike said: "It is horrible how they could do that to an old woman.

"I am upset and angry and I don't feel safe to be in the house after someone has done this.

"I also had a quad in the garden so I was worried that they were going to come back for it.

"I had only just bought the bike for £2,000.

"I went out with my girlfriend while she was getting her hair done around 8.20pm and around 8.40pm we got a phone call of her nan saying we had been broken into and two lads had pulled my bike out of the house."

When Mr Adamson returned home he also found that his dog— Hugo— a Staffordshire Bull Terrier had escaped because of the break in.

He was later found by a man who reportedly caught the dog while he chased the stolen bike up the road of Crompton Way.

The bike is a Suzuki RMZ 250 2008, predominantly white in colour with red and blue markings and the number 32 printed on it.

It is the second bike Mr Adamson has had stolen, after his Honda CR 125 motocross bike was stolen two weeks ago from his back garden.

A police spokesman said: "The two offenders forced open a gate before forcing open the back door of the property and dragging out a motorbike.

"Enquiries are currently on going".
