A TILER had to be rescued when he slipped and fell on scaffolding.
The tradesman, aged around 48, banged his ribs when he took a tumble and landed on scaffolding planks at a house in Westfield Road, Over Hulton.
It happened at 9.40am on Sunday.
Lewis Cross, watch manager at Bolton Fire Station, said: "North West Ambulance Service requested us to assist in bringing him down.
"The workman was replacing roof tiles and he slipped and fell through part of the roof, injuring his ribs.
"In the end we got him to his feet and helped him down with our service ladders and manpower."
The man was taken to hospital.
