A CHARITY campaigner who worked to make life better for homeless people has died.
Lucy Hesford, from Lostock, set up the Stable Project with her husband Mark, which encouraged people to fill backpacks with goodies to give to local homeless people at Christmas time.
The project expanded and Lucy and Mark delivered backpacks to homeless people in Manchester and Liverpool.
Lucy also previously worked at the Royal Bolton Hospital as well as working with a number of charitable projects and causes.
It is understood that Lucy died last week after suffering from an illness.
