A MOTORCYCLIST has been reportedly injured after coming off her motorbike on a major road.

She was riding eastbound along Chorley New Road, Horwich, at around 5pm when her machine slid from beneath her as she was turning left into the forecourt of the Texaco petrol station.

A motorist called Mark said: "The lass on the bike lost control on a slippery surface, the bike went from under her.

"She was not knocked off it as people are saying on Twitter. No other vehicle was involved.

"It was just a greasy, dirty, wet surface.

"The car behind was mine, which was parked in the middle of the road to prevent anyone hitting her as i was with them."

Tausif Saiyed, an employee at the petrol station, said: "Somebody has come off their bike. It's a female rider that's on the floor.

"It's not quite clear if somebody has struck has struck her but there's quite a few cars stopped around her.

"Police officers have cordoned everything and the female is being treated."
