AN ANNUAL roadshow will be returning to Radcliffe next week to provide free family entertainment and advice to residents.

The 'Six Town Summer Tour', run by Six Town Housing, aims to help people access information on employment, money, health, wellbeing and work being carried out on homes, while their children enjoy the fun activities on offer.

Youngsters will be able to enjoy free use of a bouncy castle, face-painting and balloon modelling, along with other events.

Adults can also take part in practical DIY workshops, pick up freebies and enter competitions, with prizes including an iPad Air and shopping vouchers.

John Merrick, Director of Neighbourhoods at Six Town Housing, said: “Our events provide a fun afternoon out with an overall aim to help local residents find out about a range of services in the area that could help make their lives easier.”

More than 700 people attended the six events across the borough last year.

Cllr Sandra Walmsley added: "The events provide an afternoon's entertainment, but have a further reaching impact by helping signpost residents to ways they can save money, maintain a healthy lifestyle, boost their employability and more."

Six Town Housing’s mascot Cyril the Squirrel visited six primary schools across the borough in June and July to promote the events to pupils and their parents.

Danny Mellor, headteacher at Peel Brow School, said: "Many of our pupils and their families live in properties managed by Six Town Housing. We are keen to promote their Six Town Summer Tour, because the events are a benefit to the whole family."

The roadshow will be coming to Red Bank Field on Tuesday, August 2, before visiting Peel Brow Play Area in Ramsbottom on August 9, Victoria Park in Whitefield on August 16, Hoyles Park in Bury on August 23, and St Mary’s Park in Prestwich on August 30.
