A MARKET designed especially for young entrepreneurs and performers is returning to Bolton this autumn.

Following the success of the Bolton’s first Teenage Market in May, it will be setting up shop again.

Young entrepreneurs and performers are being urged to sign up for the September event, organised by Bolton Council.

It aims to give young people an opportunity to showcase their business ideas as well as their musical and dramatic talents.

Cllr Cliff Morris, leader of Bolton Council, said: “The inaugural Teenage Market was very popular so I am delighted that we can again give young people a free platform to showcase their business talents and creative skills.”

Anyone aged 13 to 25 is invited to take part in the market, which will be located on Victoria Square on Saturday, September 10 from 10am to 4pm.

It hopes to give young people, who might already be trading online, a chance to do business in the town centre and get a feel for what it is like to work in a market environment.

Staff from Bolton Market will also be on hand to help and offer support to the youngsters on the day.

The Teenage Market is a growing nationwide initiative set up by teenage brothers Joe and Tom Barratt in Stockport as a way to support local young people and transform town centres.

Joe said: “We are delighted that Bolton is giving young people a second chance to have a free platform to get their businesses off the ground and showcase their creative talents. It is fantastic news.”
