RELATIVES are being invited to collect their headstones from a graveyard which will be turned into a car park.

Bolton Council Planning Committee gave the go-ahead for Lee Lane United Reformed Church in Horwich to be turned into 11 two-bedroom apartments with parking spaces.

There are around 300 people buried at the site and Tony Dixon and partner Diane Brooks are giving people until July 12 to come forward and claim their headstones and to arrange collection.

Unclaimed headstones will be put into storage and all stones will be photographed and recorded for people who want to trace ancestors in the future.
