HATS off to former Bolton resident Olwen Suzette Stewart who has been awarded a doctorate of education in teacher leadership from Walden University at a ceremony held in Washington DC, USA.
Dr Stewart was born in Bolton in 1965 and attended Bolton County Grammar School, and then the Bolton North Sixth Form College.
She earned her bachelors degree in education at the University of Winchester.
After teaching in England for four years, she left to teach in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates before emigrating to America in 1995. She earned her masters of science in education from Walden University in 2005.
