A CAR crashed into the barrier of a traffic light island at a busy Bolton road yesterday morning.
Police were called to Bradford Street at about 11am after an Audi car collided with the barrier.
Traffic lights near to the junctions of the A666 were not working, compounding problems for traffic in the roadworks-hit area. Police said the crash had only caused damage and no-one was injured in the incident.
Parts of Bradford Street near the junctions to St Peter’s Way are cordoned off as a £7 million resurfacing project is carried out on St Peter’s Way.
As well as resurfacing of the busy route, the money will be used for bridge maintenance work.
