A MOTORIST has admitted leading police on a 120mph motorway chase that ended in Horwich.
Jamil Rabbani was behind the wheel of a silver Ford Focus that was pursued by Lancashire Police officers from Carnforth, near Lancaster, to Bolton southbound down the M6 and the M61 at around 3.30pm on Sunday
Dash cam footage from the tailing police patrol vehicle showed the Ford reached 120mph in the outside lane.
The car left the motorway and was abandoned soon after in Lord Street, Horwich.
Driver Rabbani tried to run off before he was detained.
The 26-year-old was charged and appeared before Lancaster Magistrates' Court.
He admitted aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving and driving without insurance while a count of burglary was withdrawn.
Rabbani, of Harlech Street, Leeds, was remanded back in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court for sentencing on September 14.
A 14-year-old boy, from Leeds, who was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle has been released on bail by Lancashire Constabulary until September 12 pending further enquiries.
