THIS week’s looking is transporting readers to a clean, quiet little street.

Although, at first glance, it may appear deserted a closer look reveals two men waiting by the motors, one looking directly at the camera, while two figures walk away in the background.

The looming buildings may hint at the street being a cut-through, possibly in the centre of Bolton.

Cobble roads, old lampposts and classic motorcars hint at its date, possibly the late 1950s.

While the cars lined the street then, modern vehicles are a very uncommon sight on this stretch of road now.

Eagle-eyed readers may pick out the names of the businesses which occupied the area at the time. Among them are one or two which may not even be here anymore. Look even closer and you may be able to pick out the edge of a very recognisable landmarks in the skyline too. So do you know where this week’s picture is? Email rosalind.saul@nqnw.co.uk.
