ASPIRING medics Alisha Imran, pictured left, and Zainab Patel are two of the many successful students at Bolton Muslim Girls School.

Alisha achieved seven A* and five As and is on her way to study A-levels at Holy Cross College in Bury while Zainab achieved six A*, four As, two Bs and is off to Bolton Sixth Form College.

The two have aspirations to go into the medical field.

The school saw 82 per cent of pupils achieve the benchmark of achieving five or more good grades including English and maths.

Idrish Patel, head teacher, said: “I am so proud of the pupils who have worked tremendously hard, been committed and focused. These grades are a springboard to their careers. “This is the first time GCSEs have been held during Ramadan.”
