Man guilty of abusive texts

A MAN sent abusive text messages to a woman — and then damaged the wall outside her house.

Michael Luke Smith, aged 32, of Cleggs Lane, Little Hulton, admitted to Salford magistrates that he sent the messages in May and damaged the wall in Manchester on July 19.

He was ordered to do 130 hours of unpaid work, to pay £370 court costs, and to stay away from the woman for at least two years.

Thief, 27, took mobile phone

A MOBILE-phone thief has been ordered to do 100 hours of unpaid work.

Matthew Leonard, 27, of Blackshaw Lane, Bolton, admitted to Salford magistrates that he stole a Nokia Lumia 510 mobile phone worth £95 from Barry Mattey in Salford on June 14.

He was also ordered to pay Mr Mattey £95 compensation and to pay £170 court costs.

Driver is fined

ZACK Allred, aged 20, of Valpy Avenue, Tonge Moor, has been given six penalty points and must ordered to pay £921 in fines and court costs after being convicted at Salford Magistrates’ Court of driving a Ford Fiesta without a licence or insurance in Hough Fold Way, Harwood, on July 10.

Driver fined for running red

A WOMAN has been ordered to pay £327 in fines and court costs and given three penalty points after driving through a junction nine seconds after the lights turned red.

Justine McMinn, aged 32, of Blackburn Road, Astley Bridge, committed the offence while driving an Alfa Romeo on the East Lancashire Road at Atherleigh Way, Leigh, on March 31 and was convicted of the offence at Salford Magistrates’ Court.

Teen, 15, took a motorbike

A SCHOOLBOY has been ordered to pay £100 to a man whose motorbike he took.

The 15-year-old, of Little Hulton, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted to Salford Youth Court that he took the Peugeot Speedflight scooter on June 26 without the owner's consent and then rode it without a licence or insurance.

The bench gave the boy eight penalty points and ordered him to pay the compensation.

Man spat in the face of woman

A BREIGHTMET man who spat in a woman's face and harassed her has been ordered to carry out 210 hours of unpaid work.

Anthony Valentine, aged 31, of Bury Road, admitted to Salford magistrates that he harassed the woman on three days in June.

He made unwanted telephone calls to her on June 9, spat in her face on June 10 and was verbally abusive to her on June 11.

Also on June 11, Valentine made a threat of violence against the woman and turned up at her house in Gorton.

Valentine has also been ordered to stay away from the woman for at least two years and to pay £385 in court costs.

Speeding fine for motorist

A WOMAN has appeared in court after driving at 73mph in a 40mph zone.

Selma Cardoso, aged 39, of Astley Brook Close, Astley Bridge, admitted to Salford magistrates that she committed the offence while driving a Peugeot on the East Lancashire Road near Broad Street in Salford on May 6.

She was given six penalty points and ordered to pay £250 in fines and court costs.

Driver took car and crashed it

A MOTORIST who took a car and crashed it into a bus shelter has been spared immediate jail. Reece Budgen, 25, of Owenington Grove, Little Hulton, took the Ford Fiesta and crashed it into a bus shelter in Little Hulton.

He appeared before magistrates and admitted taking a car without the owner’s consent, driving without a licence and driving without insurance. He was given a 16-week prison sentence suspended for a year and banned from driving for two years. He must pay £300 to the car owner and £300 court costs.

Ban breached

DANIEL Boss, aged 22, of George Street, Horwich, has been fined £350 after admitting to Salford magistrates that he breached a Domestic Violence Protection Order on August 7 by being in the company of a woman he was banned from contacting.

Driver given fine and penalty points

A GREAT Lever man has been given six penalty points and ordered to pay £811 in fines and court costs after being convicted of a motoring offence.

Ashley Harris, aged 28, of Bradford Avenue, failed to tell police on June 3 who was driving an Audi A3 at the time of an alleged offence and was sentenced by Salford magistrates.

Driver in court

A FARNWORTH man drove a Mercedes C Class car without a licence or insurance.

Roman Danis, aged 23, of Daisy Avenue, was convicted at Salford Magistrates Court of committing the offences in Vicarage Road, Leigh, on April 13.

He was given six penalty points and ordered to pay £921 in fines and court costs.

Driver went through red

A WESTHOUGHTON man has admitted driving through a junction when the traffic light was showing red.

David Case, aged 58, of Molyneux Road, drove a Citroen through the junction of Atherleigh Way and St Helens Road in Leigh on May 21, 27 seconds after the lights turned red.

He admitted the offence to Salford magistrates and was given three penalty points and ordered to pay £177 in fines and court costs.

Shoplifter ordered to do unpaid work

A GREAT Lever woman has been ordered to do 75 hours of unpaid work after getting caught shoplifting.

Lisa Bagnall, 40, of Tildsley Street, admitted to Bury magistrates that she stole perfume worth £247 from Asda in Bury on June 13.

She also admitted that she committed the offence while subject to a suspended sentence order after she was convicted of theft in December 2014.

Bagnall must also attend appointments with probation officers and pay £85 court costs.

Woman admits to speeding

A WOMAN has appeared in court after driving at 70mph in a 30mph zone.

Katie Ellis, aged 33, of Nelson Street, Horwich, admitted to Salford magistrates that she committed the offence while driving on the East Lancashire Road near Broad Street in Salford on December 14 last year.

She was given six penalty points and ordered to pay £409 in fines and court costs.

Unpaid work for paving thief

A THIEF has been ordered to do 180 hours of unpaid work after stealing £1,000 worth of paving stones.

Zoltan Gyuricza, aged 32, of Ainsdale Road, Great Lever, admitted to Salford magistrates that he stole the stones from Andrew Sanders in Sale on May 24.

He was also ordered to pay £250 compensation to Mr Sanders.

Penalty points for a motorist

A MOTORIST has been convicted of failing to tell police who was driving a Renault Megane when an alleged offence took place.

Malcolm Kamara, aged 45, of Upland Drive, Little Hulton, committed the offence on February 15 and has been convicted at Salford Magistrates Court.

The bench gave him six penalty points and ordered him to pay £811 in fines and court costs.
