TAKE your hats off to them!
It was time for tea for a group of Mad Hatters who gathered for a special party in Moss Bank Park.
The event, organised by the local friendship group Leigh and Bolton Oddfellows, included stalls, face-painting and a prize for the maddest hat.
Oddfellows secretary Pam Casey said: "Despite the lashings of Eat Me cakes consumed, it was a super-sized success,
"Thank you to everyone who came down and took part.”
The party was the first of two, free, community-based events being held by the local friendship group during September as part of its annual Friendship Month campaign.
The second event was a Tea with Friends Morning held on Wednesday 14 September at the society's hall in Bromwich Street, Bolton.
As part of Friendship Month, the Oddfellows is also offering a chance to win a luxury afternoon tea for two and £100 spending money in a free prize draw. Enter online at www.friendshipmonth.com
