BOLTON barman Christian Burrows impressed The X Factor judges and made it through to the next round of the hit ITV show.

The 19-year-old appeared on tonight's programme during the Boot Camp stage of the prime hit vocal competition.

He performed Lukas Graham's Seven Years with two other contestants - Sasha Taylor and James Craise - in a bid to win over the judges panel including music mogul Simon Cowell.

Before stepping out for their all-or-nothing rendition, Christian admitted "it's complete daunting" and said if he was kicked out of the competition his first audition, in Manchester, would have all been for nothing.

To the delight of the other contestants watching on, the trio's version made its mark with Simon, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh.

Talking of Christian, Louis said: "He sang his heart out."

Nicole remarked: "He's way better than his audition."

Sharon said: "It was a hard song and they did it brilliantly."

Backstage the Bolton lad admitted the live rendition was the first time in the day he had hit all the right notes during the ending.

The judges invited Christian back to the following day of the contest along with Sasha and James.

With Sunday's edition showing selected highlights, viewers did not get to see how five-strong boyband Yes Lad got on.

Members Cian Gleeson, aged 19 of Horwich, Luke Robin Gregory, aged 21 from Bolton, Sonny Jake Hardman, aged 19, of Atherton, Lewis Maxwell, aged 16, of Liverpool and Joel Healy, aged 19, from Salford, waltzed through their audition with an acapella version of Justin Timberlake's Don't Stop The Feeling.

The fate of Girl Next Door, featuring 19-year-old singer Saskia Rosimus, from Lostock, is also unknown.
