MEET real life water baby Anaya Mistry.

For at the age of two after taking to swimming like a duck to water she has achieved her 25 metres badge.

The toddler who follows here big sister everywhere was hot on her tail as she swan a length of the pool to gain her 25 metres badge — at the age of just four.

She said: “I enjoy jumping in the water!”

Mum Becky, who swam for Bolton Metro Swimming Squad, said: “The two sisters do everything together, and they did their 25 metres together.

“Anaya asked if she could take her arm bands off on holiday and she just swam, I wasn’t expecting her to.

“She is just so confident in the water.”

Mrs Mistry has been taking her daughters to the pool with her since they were very young and on holiday they were in and out of the water. It was her confidence which inspired her mum and the swimming instructor at David Lloyds to let her skip her 10 metre badge and go straight for her 25 metres.

Mrs Mistry, who lives in Heaton with her family, said: “Anaya was inspired and spurred on by her sister, I don’t think she realised how big her achievement is, she was excited to swim the length.

“The two sisters are really close and she kept up with her big sister, who has done really well to get her 25 metres at the age of four.

“Both of them are really confident in the water, and Anaya is so buoyant.”

Mrs Mistry added: “Both of them will carry on taking lessons to develop their stroke and develop from doggy paddle.

“It is knowing where to go next with Anaya because she is just two years-old.

“I will encourage them if they want to take their swimming further, but as long as they both enjoy it.”

Little brother, Reuben, who is 11 months-old has also been in the water.

Mrs Mistry hopes that the achievements of the youngsters will inspire her husband and proud dad Yogesh to learn to swim.

She said: “He was blown away when I told him about Anaya.”
