BE you a Harley Quinn homegirl, a Flash fanatic or crazy for Captain America, there will be plenty of comic chaos in Bolton next weekend.

The annual Sci-fi and Comic Book Fair is returning to town on Sunday with a host of costume-clad guests in tow.

Over the years the event has become increasingly popular with cosplayers – people who wear costumes and fashion accessories to represent a specific character from film, television, literature and games.

Fans are invited to come dressed-up on the day or come along to meet their favourite characters.

Organised by MSE Events, the fair will be taking over the Holiday Inn in Higher Bridge Street for the day.

Co-organiser Ken Hampson said: "With all the films that are now doing the rounds and lots more top come, this cosplay activity, as it is known, has really taken off, to the delight of fans of all ages.

"It is a show not to be missed, especially if you are an ardent follower of Star Wars, Doctor Who, Spiderman, Batman and the like.

"We hope everyone has a great day, it will be fun for all the family and we are looking forward top meeting plenty of old faces and new."

Alongside the visiting superheroes and villains, the fair will be an opportunity for lovers of comic books to pick up new editions of a host of graphic novels, including Marvel and DC.

There will also be a large array of toys, collectables and memorabilia from the worlds of sci-fi and superheroes.

Doors open at 10am with tickets available on the day, costing £3per person and £5 for a family, which includes two children aged six to 12, and children aged five and under go for free.
