BOLTON’S Banksy appears to have struck again - or maybe this time it's an authentic artwork worth thousands.

Stencilled spray paint graffiti depicting a disgruntled looking maid has appeared on the side of The Hair Lounge in St George’s Road.

It’s the latest in a series of images across Bolton that are reminiscent of the secretive Bristol-based artist known only as Banksy.

The Bolton News has contacted Pest Control to verify the latest Bolton-based piece.

The organisation acts as a middleman between the public and Banksy to confirm the authenticity of possible Banksy pieces.

Banafide Banksys have sold for hundreds of thousands of pounds at auction.

Their value has led some people to remove entire walls on properties where a real Banksy has been confirmed.

The latest artwork appears more intricate than previous Banksy-style pieces seen around town.

In 2009, graffiti depicting a group of rats appeared on a wall under a motorway bridge in Horwich.

Another rat image and graffiti depicting Count Orlock from early German cinema film, Nosferatu, were also discounted as authentic Banksy pieces.

In 2015, a replica of Banksy’s Girl With a Balloon was found in St George’s Road, not far from the latest piece.
