AN inquest has been opened into the death of a teenager whose body was found at his Farnworth home.
Assistant coroner Rachael Griffin heard how 17-year-old Fionnbharr Cullen was discovered by his father on Tuesday afternoon.
Police coroner’s officer Nicola Boyes told Mrs Griffin that the student, who was known as Fionn, was last seen alive at his home on Worsley Road, Farnworth, by his sister at 11am.
She left the house, but then the teenager’s body was discovered by his father, James, when he returned home at 4.45pm.
Paramedics were called, but the student was declared dead at the scene.
The court heard that a post mortem examination has been carried out which concluded that death was due to hanging.
“There have been police inquiries into the matter but there appear to be no suspicious circumstances or third party involvement,” said Boyes told the
coroner.
The inquest was adjourned until January 18 next year
