A YOUNG woman is still in hospital after she was injured in a car crash that killed a man.
Wellwishers posted messages of support online for Natasha Gregson, of Leicester Avenue, Horwich, following the collision in which a silver Toyota Yaris left the road and hit railings at 1.50am on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old was thrown from the vehicle alongside fellow occupant Kadeel Newby, a 23-year-old father-of-two from Longsight.
Both were taken to Salford Royal Hospital where Mr Newby later died. Ms Gregson remains in a stable condition.
Her mother Emma Gregson, who runs the Horwich Hub charity shop close to the scene of the crash, said on Facebook: “I thank Kadeel for being the gentleman he was with my daughter and making her smile and be happy.”
Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit continue to investigate the incident at the junction of Winter Hey Lane and Chorley New Road.
There have been no arrests and a fresh appeal for witnesses or for any dash cam footage has been made.
Anyone with information should call 101.
