AFTER enjoying a weekend of festivities the musical merriment is set to continue in Edgworth.

The folk music is set to carry on with a concert at The Barlow this Friday.

Coming off the back of the Edgworth Folk Festival, Peter and Barbara Snape will be entertaining crowds alongside Dror Kessler.

All three performers impressed the packed audiences at the festival earlier this month and fans are hoping for a repeat performance this week.

The Snapes have a distinct Lancashire musical identity with a growing reputation for providing entertaining songs with plenty of passion and commitment.

Event organiser Chris Nash said: "Peter on melodeon and Barbara on vocals seamlessly mix well-crafted arrangements of traditional songs with an eclectic collection of light hearted and humorous songs from late music hall and early variety show, moving with ease from emotional depth to roller coaster highs.

"From traditional ballads through to the quirky and comical Peter and Barbara have it all!

"Barbara has exactly the right sort of voice for folk song and they have a synergy that gives a bounce and lift, a refreshing and individual approach to their interesting and enjoyable performances."

Their support act brings modern Israel to traditional Lancashire.

Dror grew up in Israel, living for while in the mid-west and has been making music in the country and touring abroad for more than 15 years and performing solo since 2010.

His writing and delivery style is described as 'personal and direct', with guitar at hand and an occasional harmonica thrown in.

His performances tackle subjects ranging from world and family situations, personal growth and generally the art of living.

It advocates social change, self sufficiency, compassion and acceptance, following on the long tradition of folk singer songwriters, with lyrical, topical and thought-provoking music.
