Burglar broke into butcher's

A BURGLAR who broke into a butcher’s shop has been sentenced.

Christopher Dawson, of Colwith Avenue, Bolton, broke into Crawshaws in Chaddock Lane, Leigh, on September 4.

The 25-year-old admitted burglary and was given a 12-month community order by Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court with a rehabilitation activity requirement of up to 20 days and 100 hours unpaid work.

Dawson was also ordered to pay compensation of £440.

Driving ban for motorist

A MOTORIST has been fined £120 for driving without due care and attention.

At Bolton Magistrates’ Court, Samuel Melia, aged 28, of Bushell Street, Deane, pleaded guilty to committing the offence in Wigan Road, Bolton on May 3 whilst driving a VW Golf.

He was ordered to pay £115 in costs and banned from holding a licence for six months.

Man fined for driving offence

MAGISTRATES have ordered Ghulam Sarwar, aged 62, of Chorley Old Road to pay £618 in fines and costs for careless driving on Chorley New Road on February 24.

Court makes banning order

A RESTRAINING order has been made banning a man from contacting a woman or going to her home after he admitted criminal damage.

At Bolton Magistrates' Court Ryan Richards, aged 26, of Tempest Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to damaging a door, valued at £50, on July 26.

Richards was fined £50 and was ordered to pay £165 in compensation, costs and charges.

Driver fined £200 by court

MAGISTRATES have fined a motorist £200 for driving without care, insurance or a licence.

Manar Serani, aged 32, of Lever Edge Lane, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offences whilst driving a VW Polo on Manchester Road, Bolton, on May 27.

He must also pay £115 in costs.

Careless Merc driver fined

A MERCEDES driver has been fined for driving without due care and attention on the M61 at Farnworth.

At Bolton Magistrates' Court Naman Rashid, aged 34, of Tanfield Drive, Radcliffe, admitted committing the offence on the Southbound carriageway of the motorway on June 14.

In addition to the fine, magistrates ordered him to pay £115 in costs and charges.

Driver fined over offences

A MOTORIST who was caught driving without a licence has been fined by magistrates.

Aidan Wardle appeared at Bolton Magistrates’ Court and admitted having no licence or insurance and driving without due care and attention in a Fiat Punto on Ivy Road, Bolton, on August 31.

Wardle, aged 21, of Wavertree Court, School Hill, Bolton, was fined a total of £200 and magistrates told him he must also pay £85 in prosecution costs plus a £30 victim surcharge.

Racial abuse of an officer

MAGISTRATES have sentenced Barry Gore to a conditional discharge for two years after he pleaded guilty to racially harassing a police officer on July 16.

Gore, aged 20, of Linacre Avenue, Bolton, was also ordered to pay £50 compensation plus £105 in costs and charges.

Vandal told to behave

A VANDAL who damaged a woman's house has been warned to behave for the next 18 months.

Cameron McDonald, aged 18, of Highgate Lane, Little Hulton, admitted to Salford magistrates that he damaged a window at a woman's home in Worsley on September 6 and resist arrest.

McDonald was given an 18-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay the £150 repair bill and £85 court costs.

Driver given 6-month ban

A BROMLEY Cross man has been banned from driving for six months after committing two motoring offences.

Christopher John Green, aged 40, of Stonesteads Way, was convicted at Salford Magistrates Court of driving a Fiat car in Manchester Road, Bolton, on November 15 last year without a licence or insurance.

He must also pay £245 in fines and court costs.

Unpaid work order after attack on woman

A MAN who attacked a woman and damaged her hair dryer has been ordered to carry out unpaid work for 80 hours.

Josh Flitcroft, aged 22, of Silverwell Street, Bolton, went to a house in Manchester on September 9 and assaulted the woman before damaging her hair dryer, coffee table and mirror.

He admitted assault, criminal damage and cannabis possession to Salford magistrates and was also ordered to pay £170 court costs.

Driver was uninsured

CARMEL Mairs, aged 28, of Hulton Lane, Deane, has been given six penalty points and ordered to pay £811 in fines and court costs after being convicted at Salford Magistrates Court of driving without insurance in Old Hall Road North, Bolton, on August 9.

No licence driver banned

A GREAT Lever man has been banned from driving for six months after driving without insurance or a licence.

Zoltan Balog, aged 32, of Carter Street, admitted to Salford magistrates that he committed the two offences while driving a Mercedes Benz in Eskrick Street, Bolton, on May 2.

He was also ordered to pay £440 in fines and court costs.

Driver had taken drugs

A VAN driver caught with illegal levels of drugs in his blood has been fined £80 and banned from holding a driving licence for 12 months.

Westley Jenkins, aged 36, of Higher House Close, Chadderton, appeared at Bolton Magistrates’ Court and admitted driving a Ford Transit van on Bradford Street, Bolton, on August 16 having taken cannabis.

Scooter rider had no licence

JAMES Samuel Dickinson, aged 37, of Winchester Way, Breightmet, has been convicted at Salford Magistrates Court of riding a scooter without insurance and a licence.

Dickinson committed the offences while riding a Piaggio Zip scooter in Bury Road, Bolton, on August 25.

He was given six penalty points and ordered to pay £1,031 in fines and court costs.

Driver is fined

MASOUD Noshaadi, aged 33, of Danby Road, Great Lever, has been given three penalty points and ordered to pay £155 in fines and court costs after being convicted at Salford Magistrates Court of driving a Vauxhall Signum in Manchester Road, Bolton, without a licence on May 6.

Rider fined for no helmet

A MOTORCYCLIST must pay £1,031 in fines and court costs after riding without insurance and without wearing a helmet.

Ashley Peter Tucker, aged 18, of Bury, committed the offences while driving a Daelim S Scooter in Longsight, Harwood, on August 8. He was convicted at Salford Magistrates Court and given six penalty points.

Man damaged police car

A MAN who smashed a window and damaged a police car has appeared in court again.

After committing the offences in Salford in February, Michael Anthony McDonagh, aged 26, of Peel Park Crescent, Little Hulton, was ordered by Salford magistrates to do unpaid work. However, he admitted at the court that he failed to turn up to do the work on September 12.

He was given a community order and told to stay home from 8pm and 6am daily until November 16.

Driver fined for no licence

AT Manchester Magistrates’ Court Andrew Shelley, aged 29, of Lenham Gardens, Breightmet, has been convicted of driving without a licence.

Shelley was caught driving a Renault Scenic in Rushlake Drive, Bolton, on August 2.

He was also ordered to pay £261 in fines and costs.

Driver banned for 12 months

A DRINK-DRIVER has been banned 12 months and fined £160.

At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Christian Boyce, aged 33, of McDonna Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence while driving a Citroen AX in McDonna Street on October 2 and admitted using threatening behaviour.

He was also ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

Van driver was over the limit

A VAN driver has been banned from holding a licence for three years after he was caught drink-driving and in possession of amphetamine.

At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Gordon Cunningham, aged 62, of Hazelwood Road, Smithills, pleaded guilty to committing the offences whilst driving a Citroen Berlingo in Glebe Street, Bolton, on September 25.

He was fined £535 and must also pay £125 in costs and charges.

Driver banned

A DRINK-driver has been banned from the roads for 20 months by Bolton magistrates.

Jack Riley, aged 23, of Whalley Avenue, Johnson Fold, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on September 28 whilst driving a Ford Ka on Chorley Old Road, Bolton.

He also admitted driving without a licence or insurance.

Riley was fined £240 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

Penalty points

ZSOLT Kovacs, aged 23, of Peabody Street, Bolton, has been given six penalty points and ordered to pay £275 in fines and court costs after being convicted at Salford Magistrates Court of driving a Mazda without insurance in Derby Street, Bolton, on March 14.

12-hour curfew

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to be electronically tagged after he pleaded guilty to assault.

The court heard how Robert Birtles, aged 28, of Duke Street, Bolton, beat James Booth on September 24. He also admitted causing harassment and obstructing a police officer.

At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Birtles was sentenced to a 7pm to 7am curfew for three months, must have treatment for alcohol addiction for six months and pay £200 compensation.

Teenage thief burgled house

A SCHOOLBOY car thief has been hauled back before a court – for burglary.

The 16-year-old, of Bolton, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was given a referral order at Salford Youth Court in May after admitting stealing a woman’s Ford Fiesta in Middleton last November.

He has now been given a Youth Rehabilitation Order after being convicted of breaking into a house in Reddish and stealing £2,800 worth of computer equipment.
