AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a dad in a car crash in Chorley New Road, Horwich.
Bolton area coroner Alan Walsh heard how 23-year-old Kadeel Hanaway-Newby was in a Toyota Yaris which went out of control on October 12.
Police coroner’s officer Julie Hyde told the court that both Mr Hanaway-Newby and another occupant of the car were thrown from the vehicle and paramedics declared him dead at the scene at 3.17am.
“Police inquiries have been made into this matter and there are no suspicious circumstances or third party involvement,” said Mrs Hyde.
However, the court heard that Greater Manchester traffic unit’s investigation into the accident was continuing.
“These inquiries focus on who was driving the vehicle and route of the vehicle prior to the collision,” said Mr Walsh.
Mr Hanaway-Newby was married and lived in Mossley. No members of his family were in court for the hearing.
The area coroner released Mr Hanaway-Newby’s body to allow his funeral to take place and adjourned the inquest until a pre-inquest review, due to be held on January 9 next year.
