TWO men arrested after a jewellery store was robbed were later released without charge.
In the incident, three knifemen stole jewellery and cash worth £50,000 from Michael Roberts Jewellers in Blackburn Road, Astley Bridge, on May 7.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed the men were arrested in connection with the incident but were later released due to insufficient evidence.
The three robbers, dressed all in black with gloves and ski masks, carried out the raid after pulling up in a Ford Transit van with a private registration plate previously stolen from an address in Farnworth the month before.
The gang fled the scene in the same van and it was found less than 30 minutes later by officers abandoned in nearby Gresham Street, Bolton.
