THIS picture of roe deer was snapped by campaigner Peter Hunt, on land where a cycle track will be built in Leverhulme Park.
A huge campaign has been launched in a bid to persuade the council to look for a more "suitable" site and arguments put forward including the impact the development would have on wildlife in the area.
Mr Hunt, keen photographer saw the deer on a weekday morning last week.
He said: "Why do we need another cycle track on Leverhulme Park when there is already a cycle and running track already on Leverhulme Park.
"Why not spend the money on updating the facilities that are already there,
"There is also a tawny owl nest near the proposed cycle track sight as well, and I think a lot of other people do not want too spoil Leverhulme Park."
Council Lord sitting on the planning committee voted narrowly in favour of approving the plans.
Campaigners say the fight to save the well used parkland will go on.
