BOLTON became Halifax for the day as filming for a popular television drama took place in the town centre.
Crews were in Le Mans Crescent to shoot scenes for the forthcoming series of Last Tango in Halifax, the romantic drama which airs on the BBC.
The filming took place around the historic arches in Le Mans Crescent in Queen Street and involved a character cycling while talking on a mobile phone.
Filming has already taken place in Horwich at the weekend for the hit programme, which stars Derek Jacobi and Anne Reid.
It is the latest in a long line of high-profile shows to be filmed in Bolton including Peaky Blinders and Peter Kay’s Car Share.
Bolton Council’s executive cabinet member for regeneration, Cllr Ebrahim Adia, said: “Bolton has gained a great reputation for being a film-friendly town and we’re very fortunate to have locations around the borough that appeals to film-makers and TV production companies.
“We have hosted numerous filming requests over the years and we’re pleased to be able to facilitate filming again for the Last Tango in Halifax, which is an extremely popular show.”
“Filming puts the borough on the map and we welcome approaches from production companies.”
