WANDERERS have landed a surprise catch in their worldwide scouting net.

Coaches attached to the club's international academy recently checked out the talent on Spain's Costa Blanca and were impressed by a 15-year-old midfield player, who was born and raised in England.

Callum Bush, who moved to Spain with his family four years ago, now has an open invitation to travel to the Reebok for further assessment later in the year.

Dave Bailey, assistant manager of the international academy, said: "We found a couple of English boys who are now living in Spain and young Callum stood out.

"The international academy does just what it says on the tin: we said we were over there looking for players in the hope of bringing them back here and that is what we'll do with Callum.

"If we think they are good enough, we'll give them their chance. Once they are in the system, the rest is up to them."

The international academy, which was laucnhed earlier this year has already established contacts in Cyprus, the USA and India and is currently forging links with Malta, Finland, Norway, Chile and Hong Kong.

This summer, Wanderers coaches will run the rule over more than 1,000 American youngsters when they visit Wisconsin and Atlanta.
